Irritable Bowel – Hypnosis helps

Hypnosis is a useful adjunct to IBS treatment.

  • Sixty-seven per cent reported a 30% or more reduction in abdominal pain scores.
  • Cut scores for depression (63% to 34%) and anxiety (25% to 12%)

Comment – valuable tool in Rx for IBS. Helps to have them imagine a warm glow of goodness going thought their abdomen. If you can get their hands arm then have them put their hands on the abdomen and have then transfer the warmth to their abdomen and imagine the red glow going in. I have found meditation works maybe even better. In order to shut down a flare well, it takes 1/2 hour of medication or hypnosis.
