- 2 studies have suggested morphine near time of surgery is associated with increased relapse. (one in breast, one in prostate ca)
- 5 studies, including one prostate, failed to confirm it
- all above are retrospective studies so not that good; several prospective are being done now.
- at least in the animal model it had no effect in breast cancer
