  • 25 women each group
  • pressure on posterior shin pressure spot SP6 and SP8 compared
  • SP8 significantly better:

Results:

  • As seen above SP8 worked significantly better
  • Technique:

“press [SP8] with her thumb in a clockwise circular fashion for 5 minutes, then press the point on the other foot for 5 minutes, this time in a counterclockwise fashion, and then repeat the whole procedure to yield a total period of 20 minutes; two periods of 5 minutes spent on each foot.”

Comment – though one would think anti-cramp pills would be easier, they probably don’t have effect in 20 minutes…

    Thanks for posting this.

These two points are actually found on the medial side of the lower leg.

“The Sanyinjiao (SP6) point is one of many points used in acupressure, particularly for gynecologic, genitourinary, and digestive disorders, as well as dystocia and alleviating labor pain.10,11 It is located on the medial aspect of the calf, three cuns (the breadth of patient’s thumb) above the medial malleolus posterior to the border of tibia, on the spleen meridian.10” from your article.

    ouch – thanks for that…
